Lock gates closed.

20 black-headed gulls sat along the lock gate
10 black-headed gulls on the water in the dock basin
Another 20 black-headed gulls sat on the roofs of the houses opposite the dock basin

4 cormorants on the boom, showing off their plumage beautifully. Some people say they stand with their wigs spread out to dry off, others say it's to regulate temperature and there is also a theory that it aids their digestion. They remind me of shirts hung out to dry.

1 cormorant fishing in the dock basin.
